108th floor is 1,421 ft high, floor with the bubbles was the 111th floor which is 1,472 ft high. :-O
It was pretty awesome, totally worth the cost, I was so excited to finally get to do it! The views were AMAZING, it gave me even more appreciation for the opportunity I've had to get to live in this gorgeous city.
Day "3"
I say "3" because their legitimate Day 1 was on the plane! :) June 1st! We had a neat lunch that was similar to the Melting Pot, in that we cooked the meats in the center of the table. It was interesting, most tasted pretty good. We had to kind of guess as to what meat was what but I'd say we made some decent guesses!
Then we took a day trip to Panyu, getting there took quite a bit longer than we'd expected but we at least got up near the top of the temple. There were lots of stairs and an amazing view of the Nansha Bay. The statue at the front of the temple is to commemorate a woman who is said to have saved many lives of sailors who had been in shipwrecks, so she is the goddess of the sea. It was a beautiful area.
But first we found Transformers and the Batmobile!!! In a random Pan Yu parking lot!
All temples have a drum and a bell tower, but by the time we got to the other side the drum tower was closed.
Drum Tower
The marriage tree. Newlyweds come tie their "wish" to the tree and the tree blesses them with a happy life. The story behind it was rather sad. Star-crossed lovers from different classes, not allowed to be. The woman was married off and her love was murdered. She died later in life of sadness but got to be buried with the man she'd loved all along.
Random statues we found behind the temple
"Ship" that was mounted to the edge, looked cool, kids play area so we didn't venture onto it.

Chimelong Safari Park and the Pearl River Night Cruise
Tigers being Cassidy's favorite animal I was super excited that while we were at the Safari Park they were doing the tiger show feeding them, it's neat to see. I actually got a lot of good action shots, too. We didn't get to feed elephants this time (it was bath time for them) but Cass got to feed a giraffe and we got to attempt to feed swans. The koi fish were INSANE stealing the food from the poor birds! We also got to feed monkeys, I REALLY hope that video works, because that monkey was awesome! Enough talking! For the third time, here are more pictures from the Chimelong Safari Park in Pan Yu, because each time I've gotten to try something new or have found something new to see!
Cute pandas doing cute panda things! And laying on ice cause it's too hot for the poor pandas. And, of course panda hats!
Giraffes!
Red Panda sticks his tongue out at you
Tigers! Golden, Siberian and White
Koalas! My favorite! <3

Josh asked me to take his picture with this sign, I swear!
Their last day here I, unfortunately, had to work for a few hours so in the morning I took them the the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, not a lot of pictures but here's what I got.
Museum Greeter Robot! Too bad we couldn't understand her...
Ok, so this wasn't at the museum, it was on my way to work but... still...
Then, they made their way to Beijing to enjoy the rest of their trip. But, it was so wonderful to see them, I missed them so very much! Now, just three more months to go then I'll be home :)
